About the city

ROGOZNICA

Rogoznica is a coastal town located between Šibenik and Split, along the indented coastline of central Dalmatia. The town developed around a sheltered natural bay and is known today for its peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained waterfront and Frapa Marina, one of the best-known marinas on the Croatian coast. The old town is situated on a peninsula connected to the mainland, where visitors can explore stone houses, narrow streets and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Nearby is also Dragon’s Eye, a natural saltwater lake and one of Rogoznica’s most distinctive landmarks. In addition to numerous coves and pebble beaches, the town offers a rich culinary selection based on fresh fish, seafood and Dalmatian specialities.

Thanks to its location along the Adriatic Highway, Rogoznica is well connected with other parts of Dalmatia and provides a convenient base for exploring the coast and islands. Nearby destinations include Šibenik, Primošten, Trogir, Split and Krka National Park, while regular bus services connect Rogoznica with Split, Šibenik, Zadar, Zagreb and other Croatian cities. Bus travel provides a convenient way to reach Rogoznica throughout the year and offers practical connections with major transport hubs.

About the city

RAŠA

Raša is a small town located in southeastern Istria, near Labin and the eastern coast of the peninsula. It was established in the late 1930s as a purpose-built mining settlement and today represents a unique example of urban planning from that period in Croatia. The centre of the town is dominated by the Church of St Barbara, the patron saint of miners, whose bell tower resembles a mining tower and symbolises the area’s mining heritage. The surroundings of Raša are characterised by green hills, the Raša River valley and the nearby Raša Bay, offering opportunities to enjoy nature and explore Istria’s industrial heritage. Local cuisine is based on traditional Istrian dishes, locally produced olive oil, wines and fresh ingredients.

Raša is an interesting destination for visitors who want to explore eastern Istria and its mining heritage. Nearby destinations include Labin, Rabac, Barban and Učka Nature Park, while the coast and numerous beaches can be reached within just a few minutes by car. Regular bus services connect Raša with Labin, Pula, Rijeka, Pazin and other Croatian cities, making bus travel a practical way to reach the town and continue your journey through this part of Istria.
