Our history
From humble beginnings to becoming one of Croatia’s leading bus operators, our history has been shaped by continuous development, investment and dedication to our passengers.
1947
Vodnjan
Founded as “Autopoduzeće za Istru” in Vodnjan.
1948
Pula TRAP
Merged with Pula on 15 May 1947. The company was subsequently renamed “Transportno remontno autopoduzeće” – Pula, a name it retained from 19 June 1948 until 31 December 1954.
1955
Autosaobraćaj
The company changed its name to “Autosaobraćaj” – Pula.
1963
Autotrans
The company was merged with “Autotrans” – Rijeka on 13 May 1963. It operated under this name until 5 September 1966.
1966
Autosaobraćaj
The company once again became independent and resumed operating under the name “Autosaobraćaj”.
1972
Brioni
The name “Brioni”, which the company still uses today, first appeared on 8 January 1972, when the company also merged with the municipal company responsible for local passenger transport.
1985
RO Brioni Pula
At the end of 1985, following a regular liquidation and reorganisation process, RO Brioni Pula was registered as a unified organisation.
1993
Brioni d.d.
In accordance with the Act on the Transformation of Socially Owned Enterprises, Brioni became a joint-stock company in 1993.
1997
New Management and Restructuring
At the beginning of 1997, the company’s ownership structure changed and a new Management Board was appointed. A process of reorganisation and financial consolidation was initiated, laying the foundations for the renewal of the vehicle fleet and the company’s further development.
2017
Nomago
In 2017, the Slovenian company Nomago became the 100% owner of Brioni, making Brioni part of the Nomago Group, one of the leading transport providers in the region.
2025
Busly
In 2025, Brioni and Arriva began cooperating through the joint Busly network, providing passengers with more bus routes and departures, better connectivity, and more flexible travel options.

Today, Brioni employs 180 people, operates a fleet of 65 vehicles and transports thousands of passengers across Croatia and Europe every day.
