About the city
RAB
Rab is a town located on the island of the same name in the Kvarner region, known for its rich history, well-preserved medieval centre and distinctive silhouette of four bell towers. The historic centre is filled with stone-paved streets, squares and palaces that reflect centuries of maritime and cultural heritage. In addition to its cultural heritage, Rab is known for its indented coastline, numerous coves and sandy beaches, which are relatively rare along the Croatian Adriatic. The island is surrounded by forests and marked hiking trails, while local cuisine is based on fresh fish, seafood and traditional island specialities, including the famous Rapska torta, a traditional Rab cake.
Rab is an appealing destination for relaxation, active holidays and exploring the natural and cultural attractions of the Kvarner region. In addition to exploring the historic town centre, visitors can discover other places on the island, such as Lopar, Kampor and Barbat, or continue their journey towards the mainland. The town is connected by regular bus services with Rijeka, Zagreb, Karlovac, Senj and other cities, while bus travel combined with ferry connections provides convenient access to the island throughout the year.
