About the city
SUKOŠAN
Sukošan is a coastal town located south of Zadar, along one of the largest natural harbours in the Adriatic – Zlatna Luka. The town is known for its long coastline, well-maintained beaches, seaside promenades and D-Marin Dalmacija, one of the largest marinas on the Croatian coast. The historic centre features traditional stone houses, narrow streets and remains of historic architecture, while the surrounding area is characterised by numerous coves, olive groves and typical Dalmatian landscapes. The proximity of the sea, the islands of the Zadar archipelago and various natural attractions makes Sukošan an interesting destination, while local cuisine includes fresh fish, seafood, olive oil and specialities of the Zadar region.
Thanks to its location close to Zadar, Sukošan is a convenient starting point for exploring northern Dalmatia. Nearby destinations include Zadar, Biograd na Moru, Vransko Lake Nature Park, Kornati National Park and Paklenica National Park. Regular bus services connect Sukošan with Zadar, Biograd na Moru, Šibenik, Split, Zagreb and other Croatian cities, making bus travel a convenient way to reach the town and continue your journey along the Dalmatian coast.
