POREČ
Poreč is one of the best-known towns on the western coast of Istria, renowned for its rich cultural and historical heritage and long-standing tourism tradition. Its historic centre dates back to ancient times and is best known for the Euphrasian Basilica, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A walk through the stone streets of the Old Town reveals traces of Roman urban planning, historic palaces, squares and the waterfront promenade. Poreč is surrounded by well-maintained beaches, green coves and cycling trails, while its diverse culinary scene features Istrian specialities, olive oil, truffles, fish and seafood.
In addition to its cultural attractions, Poreč is an excellent starting point for exploring the western coast of Istria, nearby towns such as Vrsar, Novigrad and Rovinj, and the peninsula’s inland areas. The city is well connected by bus with Pula, Rijeka, Zagreb, Labin and other Croatian cities throughout the year, making bus travel a convenient option for reaching Istria or continuing to other destinations. Thanks to its excellent transport connections and diverse tourist attractions, Poreč is one of the most visited destinations on the Croatian coast.
