OPATIJA

Opatija is one of the best-known tourist destinations on the Croatian coast and the birthplace of Croatian tourism. Known for its elegant villas, beautifully landscaped parks, the Lungomare promenade and rich history, it has attracted visitors seeking a combination of Mediterranean atmosphere, culture and relaxation for more than a century. Among the city’s most famous landmarks are the Maiden with the Seagull statue, Angiolina Park and historic Austro-Hungarian villas that reflect Opatija’s rich past.

 

Throughout the year, Opatija hosts numerous cultural, music and gastronomic events and is an excellent starting point for exploring the Kvarner region and nearby destinations. Thanks to its good transport connections and regular bus services, Opatija is easily accessible from Zagreb, Rijeka, Pula and other Croatian cities.

BRSEČ

Brseč is a small historic town located on the eastern coast of Istria, on a cliff overlooking Kvarner Bay, between Mošćenička Draga and Plomin. It is known for its well-preserved medieval centre, stone houses, narrow streets and its setting offering views towards the islands of Cres and Krk. Notable landmarks include the Church of St George, the remains of the town walls and traditional Istrian architecture that has preserved the character of the former fortified settlement. The area surrounding Brseč is rich in natural beauty, from the wooded slopes of Učka to secluded coves and beaches along the steep coastline. Local cuisine is based on Istrian ingredients, olive oil, locally produced wines, fish and other specialities of the region.

Brseč is an interesting destination for visitors who want to explore the quieter side of eastern Istria and combine cultural heritage with time in nature. Nearby destinations include Mošćenička Draga, Lovran, Opatija, Učka Nature Park and numerous towns in the Kvarner region. Thanks to its location along the D66 state road, regular bus services connect Brseč with Rijeka, Opatija, Pula, Labin and other cities, making it easy to arrive by bus and continue your journey through Istria and Kvarner.

Cancelling permanently invalidates the ticket and cannot be undone. The refund amount depends on the ticket type and how far in advance you cancel — see Change of Travel Date and Refund for details.

Platforms occasionally change due to station scheduling, so please also check the information boards at the Opatija bus station before boarding.
