About the city
NOVI VINODOLSKI
Novi Vinodolski is a coastal town located in the southern part of the Kvarner Gulf, between Crikvenica and Senj. The town has a long history dating back to ancient times and holds a special place in Croatian cultural heritage thanks to the Vinodol Statute, one of the oldest legal documents in Europe. The historic centre is characterised by stone-paved streets, remnants of the town walls, the Frankopan Castle and the Church of St. Philip and St. James, while the waterfront features well-maintained promenades, beaches and small harbours. Its mild Mediterranean climate, combination of sea and hinterland, and rich culinary offering with an emphasis on Kvarner specialities make the town an enjoyable destination throughout the year.
Thanks to its location along the Adriatic Highway, Novi Vinodolski is a convenient base for exploring Kvarner and the Croatian Littoral. Nearby destinations include Crikvenica, Senj, the island of Krk and Northern Velebit National Park, while regular bus services connect the town with Rijeka, Zagreb, Zadar, Split, Pula and other Croatian cities. Good bus connections make it easy to reach Novi Vinodolski whether you are travelling for a holiday, visiting friends or family, or continuing your journey to other destinations along the Croatian coast.
