MALI LOŠINJ
Mali Lošinj is the largest town on the island of Lošinj and one of the best-known island destinations on the Croatian Adriatic. Situated around a spacious natural harbour, the town is surrounded by pine forests, coves and coastal promenades. Its maritime heritage can be seen in the historic town centre, lively waterfront and numerous villas dating back to the period when Lošinj developed as a climate health resort. Among its best-known attractions are the Museum of Apoxyomenos, which houses an ancient bronze statue discovered in the waters off Lošinj, and the Miomirisni Otočni Vrt, a fragrant island garden. The island is also known for its mild Mediterranean climate and diverse vegetation, while local cuisine is based on fresh fish, seafood and island specialities.
Mali Lošinj offers numerous opportunities for both active and relaxing holidays throughout the year. Visitors can explore coastal promenades, cycling routes and other towns on the island, or take a boat trip to nearby islands in the Lošinj archipelago. The town is connected by regular bus services with Cres, Rijeka, Zagreb and other Croatian cities, while bus travel combined with ferry connections provides convenient access to the island and onward travel to other destinations in the Kvarner region.
