About the city
JABLANAC R.
Jablanac is a small coastal town located on the Velebit Channel, at the foot of Mount Velebit, between Senj and Karlobag. Despite its size, the town has a long maritime history and is known as a departure point for the ferry connection to the island of Rab. The nearby Zavratnica Cove is one of the best-known protected landscapes on the Croatian coast, attracting visitors with its steep cliffs and exceptionally clear sea. The combination of the sea, karst landscape and Velebit slopes gives Jablanac its distinctive natural character, while local food and beverage establishments offer specialities of coastal cuisine, with an emphasis on fish and seafood dishes.
Thanks to its location along the Adriatic Highway and its proximity to the Stinica ferry port, Jablanac is an important point for travellers heading to the island of Rab or exploring the Velebit and Croatian Littoral regions. Nearby attractions include Senj, Northern Velebit National Park and Zavratnica Cove, while regular bus services connect Jablanac with Rijeka, Senj, Karlobag, Zadar, Zagreb and other Croatian cities. Bus travel provides a convenient way to reach Jablanac and continue your journey towards coastal and island destinations.
