About the city
BAŠKA VODA
Baška Voda is a coastal town on the Makarska Riviera, located between Mount Biokovo and the Adriatic Sea. Once a fishing and agricultural settlement, it is now known for its long pebble beaches, clear waters and pine forests stretching along the coast. The town is home to traces of its rich history, including the Church of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of travellers and sailors, as well as numerous archaeological finds that provide evidence of life in the area since ancient times. Baška Voda preserves its Dalmatian traditions, while the local cuisine is based on fresh fish, seafood, olive oil and other specialities characteristic of the Makarska Riviera.
Thanks to its location along one of Croatia’s best-known coastal roads, Baška Voda is well connected with other destinations in central Dalmatia. Visitors can explore nearby Makarska, Mount Biokovo, Biokovo Nature Park and other towns along the Riviera, while bus services connect Baška Voda with Split, Makarska, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Zagreb and other Croatian cities. Bus travel provides convenient access to Baška Voda and practical connections to major transport hubs throughout the year.
